Having just completed a sold out U.K. tour, which included an unforgettable night at London’s famed Royal Albert Hall, First Aid Kit kicked off their U.S. fall headline tour this past Friday to an excitedly packed crowd at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom. The trek sees the band headlining some of the largest and most renowned venues of their career, including The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on October 29 and The Wiltern in Los Angeles on November 12. Oklahoma-based artist Samantha Crain will support on all dates. See below for all U.S. dates, and visit http://thisisfirstaidkit.com to purchase tickets.

Just last week, it was announced that the soundtrack to the forthcoming motion picture Wild will be highlighted by First Aid Kit’s stunning new cover of R.E.M.’s “Walk Unafraid.” “We are so honored to get to be a part of the beautiful and inspiring film Wild,” says Klara and Johanna Söderberg. “We have a lot of love for R.E.M’s song “Walk Unafraid,” which themes fit perfectly with the movie and the personal journey Cheryl is on. We wanted to do something new with the song and created an acoustic arrangement with toms, cello and mandolin.” The soundtrack also features an array of era-spanning tracks by such legendary artists as Bruce Springsteen, Simon & Garfunkel, Leonard Cohen, Wings, Portishead, Lucinda Williams, and more. The soundtrack will be available everywhere Monday, November 10.
With their most recent album Stay Gold, First Aid Kit—sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg—have honed their lush arrangements and blossomed as vivid storytellers in creating this ambitious 10-song collection of originals. The album’s first single “My Silver Lining” became a mainstay at Triple A radio and currently holds strong in the Top 3 on SiriusXM The Spectrum’s Shortlist. Rolling Stone raves it’s “worthy of worship,” while Pitchfork describes the album as “’70s-tinged folk-rock that thrives on soaring vocals, warm harmonies, big choruses, and heart-on-sleeve lyrics.” PEOPLE proclaims Stay Gold is a “big, rich-sounding album that straddles American folk, country and pop…the vocals are earnest and plain, the melodies catchy—yep, it’s gold.” In addition, Billboard has named “My Silver Lining” one of their “10 Best Songs of 2014 (So Far).”
