Ace Augustine Announces Release Date for Red Cord Records Debut ‘The Sick and Suffering’

By on March 20, 2013

Christian metalcore outfit has announced that their new album, and first on Red Cord Records, The Sick and Suffering will be released April 23rd.  Late last month, the band released their music video for their first single entitled “Mannequins” on YouTube. The writing process for The Sick and Suffering began during the spring of 2012 with vocalist/guitarist Tyler Chadwick writing the entire album and recording the pre-production tracks by himself in his college dorm room over a three month period. With Tyler commenting, “We had no record label at the time and really no direction, no vision of the future; all we knew was that we had a lot of fans that wanted to hear new Ace Augustine music that hadn’t been written yet and that we had no way to release it to them. It was a very stressful and awkward time.” Then things took a turn for the worse during the summer as their drummer and vocalist at the time departed the band. Tyler commented on these events by stating, “While both of these events seemed negative, even catastrophic at the time, this is where Ace Augustine was reborn. We found new members and a fresh new direction that ended up with us putting together a record that we are so proud of.”
Tyler goes on to talk about the finished product, “I always hate when bands say that their album is much more mature than their previous, but the truth is that for us that statement is entirely true. I was fifteen when The Absolute was primarily written and I’ve actually grown up and matured since then. It is an album that we have poured so much emotion into and something that I am extremely proud of.  I love that I get so excited every time I sit down and listen to it and still get goose bumps every time I hear some of the lines that are in the songs. I hope this record shows everyone that Ace Augustine is back and that we aren’t going anywhere soon.”
