Alcoholic Faith Mission Debuts New ‘Alaska’ Video

Last Chance to See the Band in the US This Week!

“…we’re sort of obsessed with [Alcoholic Faith Mission]’s latest album ‘Ask Me This’…it’s just what we need to get through these sunny-cold days (and makes us wish that more contemporary indie bands played the piano).” – Interview Magazine

Danish sextet Alcoholic Faith Mission has debuted the new video for “Alaska” off of their new Ask Me This LP, out now with Old Flame Records (MillionYoung, Letting Up Despite Great Faults). Produced by GuyManly production company, “Alaska” is their fourth video from the LP, following the first three videos ‘Ask Me This,’ Running with Insanity,’ and Into Pieces,’ released earlier this year. The track is about temptation, depression, isolation, and the voices in our heads. The competing voices throughout the song contrast each other, fighting for dominance. “The journey the character in ‘Alaska’ endures is one in his own head, fighting to figure out who he is, how and where he fits in with the world,” says director Matthew Thompson. “Alaska” is the third music video he has collaborated on with the band. “Alcoholic Faith Mission’s ability to create music that lends itself so well to videos, and can span across storylines is great for me as a filmmaker, each of our videos turns out more like a short film than a typical ‘music video,'” he adds.

After
years of sold-out European sets and notable appearances at Iceland Airwaves, SXSW, CMW, and CMJ, the band finally returned stateside in support of the new Tom McFall (R.E.M., Weezer, Stars) produced LP. Alcoholic Faith Mission will conclude its first North American tour in Dallas on May 23rd. The group has been highlighted by the New York Times, Brooklyn Vegan, Esquire, and MTV who deemed them an “International Artist to Watch at SXSW ’11,” raving their “Brooding lyrics and crying-in-your-beer folk-balladeer singalongs…wreck your heart with carefully calibrated bombs of acoustic sorrow.”
