Metallica officially kicked off Record Store Day at Rasputin Music in San Francisco on April 19, 2008l.

Brooklyn’s Almost Ready Records will have several special items for sale as part of this celebration:

Big Dipper – “Joke Outfit” / “Market Scare” 7″ vinyl with picture sleeve

Veteran Bostonian indie rockers Big Dipper offers sound advice on romance and investing with a limited edition 45RPM 7″ single with picture sleeve. This single will be the only way to own these

two Dipper titles on vinyl. “Joke Outfit” and “Market Scare”, only appear on the CD version of their new 2012 studio album, Crashes on the Platinum Planet, and not the blue vinyl LP. The ever value-conscious Dippers accompany the 7″ with a pic sleeve featuring exclusive cover art by their pal Robert Pollard (Guided By Voices), so it’s a win-win-win proposition for the thrifty vinyl consumer. This is a one-time pressing of 500 copies
Nobunny – Love Visions 6 x 7″ box set

This is the ultimate edition of Nobunny’s debut album Love Visions. Their modern outsider-punk classic is spread across SIX 7″ singles encased in a custom box. These tracks were remastered from (as many) original source tapes/files (as possible), to polish these turds to maximum scuzzocity! This box comes with a 21″x21″ poster, sticker sheet, and an insert/ lyrics / liner notes / history by the Nobunny himself.

Nubs – “Job” / “Little Billy’s Burning”
Five random copies of the Nobunny box set will contain an original stock copy on the Businessman label of The Nubs’  Killed By Death classic “Job” 7″ (San Francisco, 1980). This is perhaps the punkest song ever penned. It’s been covered by many, (New Bomb Turks, Fucked Up, Secret Prostitutes) but none hold a candle to the Nubs’ original. “Job” / “Little Billy’s Burning” single will be repressed by Almost Ready’s sister label,- Last Laugh Records ( this Summer. Nobunny will be sharing the stage with the Nubs for their record release show this Summer.

Please note that a test pressing of the Nobunny box is being auctioned on eBay, with 100% of the proceeds going to NORML

Like a pop machine spewing out a small rivulet of hits… Nobunny’s ability to deliver blithesome songs with a maddened and frothy smile is simply brilliant. His bouncy and rollicking style conjures images of dirty bubbles rising over a landscape of unkempt, and insanely catchy hooks that will have the stuffiest of the arm folding camp dancing and acting like idiots within the first couple of chords.” -Brett Cross, Victim Of Time
