Launching Saturday August 10, “The Mat Zo Mix” will air on Sirius XM’s Electric Area Channel every-other Saturday at 3pm EST, with a re-broadcast the following Tuesday at 11pm EST. Showcasing an hour of exclusive edits, fresh material and unheard tracks, keeping the focus firmly on the music, the new program marks Mat’s return to radio following a three year absence after the end of his much-loved Zoned show.
Anyone that heard the British producer’s 70-track contribution to BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix series earlier this year understands Mat’s unique approach to DJing – with everything from trap, hip-hop and garage to progressive, electro-house and trance likely to feature.
Known for his eclectic and genre-bending musical style, Zo promises to pour his madcap creativity into each edition of “The Mat Zo Mix,” saying: “After over three years without a radio show I’m finally back. The idea behind the show is to keep it simple, let the music do the talking and create a unique journey with each edition. Just an hour of straight music without me rambling over it.”
The show arrives at a time when Mat’s bright star is rising to new heights. Earlier this year he released the debut single “Easy” with Porter Robinson, which shot straight to Beatport #1. Most recently Zo announced his new single “Pyramid Scheme” featuring the vocals of Public Enemy’s Chuck D. Out August 13th on Astralwerks, “Pyramid Scheme” is already picking up support from Madeon, Porter Robinson, Afrojack and Above & Beyond.
