Antillectual – Brazil Tour Begins Tomorrow / New EP Out Now

By on October 31, 2012

Fresh off a successful two-week tour of Canada and the East Coast with Anchors, The Stereo State and After The Fall, Dutch punk rock trio ANTILLECTUAL will be continuing its trek around the globe with ten days of shows in Brazil. The Nijmegen, Holland outfit is touring in support of its newest EP, Future History, which was released on September 28, 2012.
Future History is now available digitallyor on orange 7-inch vinyl. The EP was recorded by Nico van Montfort and released throughout Europe and Russia by Destiny Records, Shield Recordings, No Reason Records, Lockjaw Records and Angry Chuck Records. Three of the tracks are brand new while the fourth is a remake of an oldie from the band’s 2005 debut full-length, Silencing Civilization.
In related news, Antillectual recently debuted a music video for Future History‘s title track, which you can view here.
As torchbearers for European punk rock and perhaps one of the most road-tested bands you’ll ever come across, Antillectual has played over 700 shows around the world in six years in support of numerous releases. The trio’s last full-length, Start From Scratch (2010), was firmly rooted in the combustible, dynamic punk of the 90s skate scene while incorporating in hints of modern emo, orgcore and even metal, all while remaining socially engaged with issues such as human rights, fair trade and animal rights. Perhaps most striking though is Antillectual’s ability to dial up unforgettable choruses and infectious melodies, resulting in passionate and conscientious burners that might be some of the most addictive songs you’ll ever hear. Future Historycontinues on that upward trajectory, but with a touch more pop flavor to appeal to an even wider audience.
For media folk, here is a link to a Digital Press Page for Future History. It includes streaming audio, high-res photos, artwork, lyrics, liner notes and plenty of great information on Antillectual. As always, if you’d like speak with the band, drop me a line here.
When Antillectual returns from its current tour, it will begin recording a new full-length that is scheduled for a March 2013 release. Stay tuned for future updates and additional information.
