What a way to kick off the weekend for the City of Norfolk.  An hour before the show starts, excited concert goers are already lining up at the NorVa.  The show kicked off with ’68, a punk rocking duo who hit the stage for a quick set followed by performances from In Hearts Awake and Protest the Hero who had the crowd primed and ready for August Burns Red.  ABR has transformed into one of the biggest names on the metal scene.  Their blend of frenzied heavy chords from the creative guitar/bass by Brubaker, Rambler and Davidson, the intense drumming of Greiner, and the powerful lyrics of Luhrs have been impressing fans since their formation in 2003.  As ABR takes the stage and kicks off their set with the intense song “The Truth of a Liar” followed by “Up Against the Ropes” and “Back Burner”.  The crowd was going wild wanting more, and ABR didn’t disappoint.  They finished out their set of eleven songs followed by an incredulous drum solo and five more hit songs.  What a great concert to begin the weekend! This is definitely a must see tour!!

Since forming in Lancaster, PA in early 2003 ABR has put out 6 albums.  The first “Thrill Seeker”, in 2005, and the latest “Found I Far Away Places in 2015.  They have also been one of the headliners for the Vans Warped Tour in 2013 and 2015.
