Beware of Darkness’ Single “Howl” Continues Its Momentum With Over 18 New Radio Adds; Debut Album Out Early 2013 Via Bright Antenna/ADA

By on December 20, 2012

Wrapping up their year with solid radio adds on their first single, “Howl,” Los Angeles-based trio Beware of Darkness is ready to take a couple weeks off before a special FM 94/9 Muse after-party in San Diego on January 21, 2013.

The band just wrapped up their studio sessions with rock producer Dave Sardy (Rage Against the Machine, Wolfmother, Nine Inch Nails, Johnny Cash) on their debut LP, ORTHODOX, due out early 2013 via Bright Antenna/ADA.

Their first single, “Howl,” from their current 4-song HOWL EP is steadily receiving radio spins from KBZT (San Diego, CA) and L.A.’s #1 alternative radio station, KROQ (“Jonesy’s Jukebox,” “Locals Only” and “Out of Order”), and solid adds from KBZT (San Diego, CA), KCXX (Riverside, CA), KHTQ (Spokane, WA), KJEE (Santa Barbara, CA), KRBZ (Kansas City, MO), KRXP (Colorado Springs, CO), KTUX (Shreveport, LA), KXTE (Las Vegas, NV), WARQ (Columbia, SC), WCCC (Hartford, CT), WCHZ (Augusta, GA), WGRD (Grand Rapids, MI), WIIL (Chicago, IL), WRIF (Detroit, MI), WWDC (Washington, D.C.), WXEG (Dayton, OH), WXNR (Greenville, NC), and WZBH Ocean City, MD).

The track premiered on SPIN.COM and was described as “[a] Zeppelin-riffing, bluesy face-stomper…Think a more suped-up Black Keys concerned with pleasing the ladies with some fire-and-brimstone-y religious undertones for good measure. Party!”

Through their radio success, Beware of Darkness has earned spots on KROQ’s Epicenter Festival in Irvine, CA, and KRXQ’s Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, CA, both alongside Stone Temple Pilots, Deftones and Bush, and KJEE’s Winter Roundup with Metric, Tegan and Sarah and YoungBlood Hawke. The band finished a handful of West Coast dates with label mates The Wombats, and are slated to play their last radio show of the year in Silver Spring, MD, at DC101’s “End of the World Party” with Churchill and Go Radio at The Fillmore Silver Spring on December 21.

Stay tuned for more album updates. In the meantime, check out their video for “Howl,” which debuted on Fuse.TV and can be watched here (http://youtu.be/ESt3W__GNJw).

Beware of Darkness is Kyle Nicolaides (vocals, guitar), Tony Cupito (drums) and Daniel Curcio (bass).
