BLACK BOX REVELATION TO OPEN FOR JANE’S ADDICTION
CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED BELGIAN DUO TO RELEASE FIRST U.S. ALBUM IN SPRING 2012

Black Box Revelation, the Belgian duo composed of 22 year-old vocalist/ guitar player Jan Paternoster and 20 year old drummer/percussionist Dries Van Dijck, are set to open for the legendary Jane’s Addiction on their Theatre of Escapists tour. Amazingly together for a decade, Black Box Revelation have released two albums in Europe – 2007’s Set Your Head on Fire and 2010’s Silver Threats which was recorded in London’s legendary Konk Studios. Their first full-length American offering, My Perception is due out in Spring of 2012.
Already established overseas, the band has received great notices in the U.S. as well. The L.A. Examiner said about their show opening for Gallagher’s Beady Eye, “… a fantastic set of bluesy, Black Keys-ian rock. …they brought quite a thunderous sound to the stage.” The Comet astutely notes, “… Black Box Revelation’s classic rock and roll, electric blues-infused sound could be likened to bands like Black Rebel MotorcycleClub or The Black Keys, yet the duo stands out in a category of their own. Frontman and guitarist Jan Paternoster wails like a young Mick Jagger and drummer Dries VanDijck personifies his influences like Keith Moon, John Bonham and Dave Grohl through his thunderous drumming style.”
In addition to their previous U.S. tour dates, Black Box Revelation’s music may sound familiar to American television viewers. Their songs have been featured in numerous successful shows – Sons of Anarchy, Entourage, Vampire Diaries, Necessary Roughness, 90210. In March they can add Californication to that list.
The band came to Los Angeles to record their stateside debut, My Perception, with producer Alain Johannes [Queens of the Stone Age, Chris Cornell, Them Crooked Vultures] in his home studio. The result is their most accomplished album to date, with Los Angeles bringing some sun to their British-invasion sound. Standouts include the title track and “Rattle My Heart,” which might been an out-take from The Stones’, Out of Our Heads; the spooky acoustic strains of the Beatles-meets-Kinks vibe of “Bitter,” the pounding blues of “High On a Wire,” the thick ambience of “2 Young Boys,” and the percussive beat of “Shadowman” and the psychedelic blues of “White Unicorns.”
