Seaewe Records today released two new songs from Boston’s Brother & Co., led by singer/songwriter Josh Pritchard. The mini collection, titled “Sacred Object,” follows the band’s debut album, “Unknow You,” which released last year and received not one, but two glowing reviews from legendary Boston music publication The Noise. The 2-track release features the gentle, calculated and swelling “The Man From Home,” as well as “Arm ‘N Arm,” a summer dance jam that cleverly addresses mortality. Both songs are now available on Spotify and iTunes, and “Arm ‘N Arm” is now available as a free mp3 download via SoundCloud.

Regarding single “Arm ‘N Arm,” Brother & Co.’s Josh Pritchard says, “There’s an antique lighthouse in my hometown on Plum Island that I’ve always wanted to involve in a song. Towards the end of last year I re-watched the Sopranos—in the last season David Chase uses a beacon to inspire these big ideas about the ‘direction of life.’ It’s off in the distance and flashes kind of comfortingly, but also kind of ominously. It reminded me of the lighthouse and inspired the song—in particular a line in the chorus: All old souls / Meet in the night / In the lantern room / All old souls / Gather ’round the light / Arm ‘n arm.”
