Breakout kicked off in October 2010 and in that time has played host to over 300 acts with a total audiences of over 25,000 people – winning best independent UK promoter for All Night Long Promotions at the Live Music Awards 2011 & showcasing the likes of Ed Sheeran, Maverick Sabre, Lianne La Havas, Atlas Genius, Milo Greene, King Charles, Daughter and first London shows for the likes of Rae Morris, Vintage Trouble and Mikky Ekko

Breakout’s monthly showcase for new and breaking acts returns on Thursday, August 15th 2013 for the first time at one of London’s most revered venues THE LEXINGTON, 96-98 Pentonvile Road | London | N1 9JB

As ever the night offers a host of unsigned and newly-signed acts catching the imagination of the industry & fans alike

Matthew & Me are based in Totnes, Devon and met whilst studying music at Dartington College of Arts. Their blend of atmospheric and haunting arrangements with big, unabashed choruses have been described as “like an ethereal Prefab Sprout or Wild Beasts mating with Belle & Sebastian round Robin Guthrie?s place”. “The Indie/folk market has new contenders.” Clash Music Magazine

Signed to Warner. Bros Records and S-Curve Records, vocalist, guitarist and occasional keyboardist JJ Rosa is poised to introduce herself to the world at large with Live At The Deaf Institute, an EP recorded at the historic grade II listed ballroom on the edge of the city centre. Emerging from an already artistic family, Rosa grew up in Stockport and Spain, where at the age of fourteen, her father introduced her to the sound of Motown, Hendrix, Zeppelin, which made an indelible impression into Rosa’s consciousness. Rosa returned to England to attend music college in Manchester. After the usual array of open mic nights and sweaty college gigs, Rosa connected with Marky Lewis andJimmy Wood, signed to S-Curve Records in 2011 with Warner coming on-board late in 2012. Much of her time since has been spent working with producers including Steve Booker (Duffy) and Dan Carey (Bat For Lashes)
