The new single and album comprise the highly anticipated follow-up to his acclaimed 2013 U.S. Columbia Records debut effort, Right Place Right Time, and its accompanying hit “Troublemaker” featuring U.S. hip hop star Flo Rida.   That song went on to become a platinum-plus smash, selling more than 1.5 million units, winning over American music fans as Murs’ highest charting U.S. single to date.  The album also cracked Billboard’s Top 20 Best Selling Albums Chart, with the prolific Murs already over the 10 million milestone in total career record sales.

“Wrapped Up” was written by Murs, MCCoy, Claude Kelly and Steve Robson, and produced by Robson (One Direction, Christina Aguilera, James Blunt, Carrie Underwood, among others).  Since his dynamic breakthrough via the X Factor UK in 2009, Murs’ has soared as one of the globe’s most captivating singers.  The amiable star has notched three multi-platinum albums in the UK, four # 1 singles and multiple sold out arena treks, touring with mega-stars such as One Direction and others.  He’s been an exciting artist to watch from the very start, with his 2010 self-titled UK debut album scoring the biggest opening week sales of any UK debut artist that year.

Murs’ on-point collaboration with Travie McCoy on “Wrapped Up” precedes other riveting guest appearances on his upcoming album, including a much-buzzed writing pair-up with iconic British artist Paul Weller (formerly of The Jam and Style Council) and collabs’ with Demi Lovato on the song “Up,” and Ryan Tedder on “Seasons,” among others.

“I definitely have a vision in my head,” says Olly.  “Your experience grows, your outlook changes.  I love to work with other people, to get the ideas bouncing around.”   Most of the songs on Never Been Better were co-written by Murs, whose personal goal was to approach every track at the top of his game.
“I think this album is my ‘I mean it’ album. It’s time to come out of my shell and get a bit more serious.”

The video for the new song was shot in London and Los Angeles, with fans and critics already hailing “Wrapped Up” as a definitive single, and further proof that Olly Murs has never been better.
