Buzznet Premieres Latest Single “Ordinary Objects” From Dance for the Dying!

By on September 30, 2012

The D.C. based synth-driven indie-rock quartet Dance for the Dying premieres the new track, “Ordinary Objects” on today, September 26th! This is the second single off the band’s upcoming EP, Puzzles for the Traveler, out October 2nd. Listen to “Ordinary Objects” on Buzznet here:
With a sound reminiscent of Blondie, The Cure and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Dance for the Dying brings a new-age appeal to 80’s and 90’s post-punk and New Wave rock. The band effortlessly fuses the joyful with the melancholy to craft infectiously danceable and catchy tunes, complete with hand claps, soaring synths and explosive choruses.
Puzzles for the Traveler is a follow-up to the band’s successful 2011 self-titled EP. Select tracks from the EP were instant hits when they were released for the Rock Band video game. Due to the success of these original selections, all five songs from the original EP are now available on the Rock Band Network.
Dance for the Dying is M.C. Wolfe (vocals), Chris Link (drums), Joshua Hunter (guitar and synthesizer) and Brad Cantor (bass and synthesizer). The group was formed after Link found inspiration on a trip to India that set him on a musical mission. After his return, and through the power of the internet and mutual acquaintance, he recruited Hunter, Wolfe and Cantor by 2010 and they began crafting original songs while building their live sound.
Dance for the Dying has shared the stage with nationally touring acts The Psychedelic Furs, Mother Mother and Charlene Kaye. As a D.C. band, they have been honored to play at iconic venues such as the The Kennedy Center, The Smithsonian and National Mall.
The band’s song “Echo” from their 2011 EP was included on Paul Frank’s Academy of Awesome 2011 compilation and was listed as one of the Top 10 Songs of 2011 by DC 101’s “Local Lix” radio program.
Dance for the Dying will release Puzzles for the Traveler on October 2nd. Please head to for more updates.
