Acclaimed Canadian singer/songwriter Matthew Good is set to release his first original album for new label home eOne/FrostByte Media; ARROWS OF DESIRE is due out on September 24th in North America. A greatest hits album, OLD FIGHTERS, featuring tracks from Good‘s accomplished career, is in stores now in the United States, also via FrostByte Media. Matthew Good will play one solo acoustic show Stateside in New York City on May 14th at the intimate venue Joe’s Pub to showcase new material, as well as classic hits.
Matthew Good is a Canadian musician whose multi-platinum career has spanned nearly two decades. From his early work with the Matthew Good Band to his most recent solo sets, Good has released nine studio LPs, three EPs, a live album, and most recently a “best of” collection, OLD FIGHTERS. All of Goodʼs full-length studio releases have achieved at least Gold status in his native Canada, and since 1999 none have debuted outside of the top 5 (in Canada). To date, Matthew Good has sold more than one million albums worldwide and has been nominated for 19 Juno Awards, winning 4 of them. His most recent win was in 2011 for Rock Album of the Year for VANCOUVER.
Beyond music, Good is also known for his support of various causes, most notably his dedication to raising awareness regarding mental health issues (Good himself suffers from Bipolarity) and human rights. For the better part of a decade, Good has written commentary for his official website focusing primarily on the subjects of militarism, neocolonialism, US foreign and covert policy, the declination of human rights post 9/11, and his opposition to the federal governmentʼs dedication to Canadian combat operations in Afghanistan. He is an advocate of Ceasefire and has, in the past, contributed to The Guardian online.
