Charlotte Gainsbourg covers Jimi Hendrix cult classic ‘Hey Joe’

Because/Elektra artist Charlotte Gainsbourg joins the list of prestigious names who have interpreted the Jimi Hendrix cult classic, “Hey Joe.” Her version will appear on the soundtrack of Lars Von Triers’ anticipated new feature film Nymphomaniac.

 

Beck, who has collaborated with Charlotte Gainsbourg in the past, namely for her albums IRM and Stage Whisper, produced this bewitching and bittersweet cover.

Nymphomaniac marks the third time Lars von Triers has worked with Charlotte Gainsbourg. After ‘Antichrist’ (2009) and ‘Melancholia’ (2011), she now returns as the leading role ‘Joe’ in his latest movie, which will be released as two feature-length films. “Hey Joe” will appear in the closing credits of the movie’s second part.

Nymphomaniac: Part One will have a US theatrical release on March 21, 2014Nymphomaniac: Part Two will follow shortly afterward, with a US theatrical release on April 18, 2014.
