Charly Bliss

After the first video chapter of Charly Bliss’ Soft Serve trilogy premiered on Refinery29, Blackbook premieres the dreamy “Urge To Purge.” The video finds the band throwing back to a ‘simpler time’ Back to the Future style and playing dress up in an under the sea themed room. Frontwoman Eva Hendricks’ vocals carry along the “fun and dance-y track” that is paired with an equally fun video.

Charly Bliss’ three track EP Soft Serve is available now. The release had the band teaming up with Philadelphia based producer, Kyle “Slick” Johnson (Modest Mouse, The Hives) to create tracks that combine earworm melodies and distortion caked guitars, toeing the line between super-grime and saccharine sweet.

In true punk fashion the band has decided to throw expectations out the window and is pairing each EP track with its own music video and comic book. This trio of videos follow the classic David vs. Goliath high school love story, if the classic story had involved a chicken wing eating contest, half-naked referees, and Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus.

Be sure to look out for the third and final video in the series, coming soon!
