Cloud Control announce new video and US Spring tour dates

Cloud ControlCloud Control is thrilled to announce that they will join Metronomy on a North American tour this spring, with shows kicking off on May 9 in Atlanta. The Australian group will be playing songs from their acclaimed album Dream Cave, out now on Votiv. A complete run of the band’s tour dates can be found below, which also includes a stop at Sasquatch Festival on May 24.

Cloud Control recently premiered the hypnotic new video for their track “Moonrabbit,” which Clash Music describe as “Three and a half minutes of other-worldly pop,” going on to say, “the layered vocals seem to come in and out of focus like a kaleidoscope swirling in the morning sun.”

Cloud Control first caught our attention with their stunning debut Bliss Release, winning them fans around the world. After the success of Bliss Release and subsequent worldwide tours, the band is now back with its most accomplished and expansive album to date, Dream Cave, out September 17th in the U.S. on Votiv.

Originally hailing from Australia’s Blue Mountains and now residing in the UK, Cloud Control is made up of Alister Wright, Heidi Lenffer, Ulrich Lenffer and Jeremy Kelshaw.

Contrasting the home recorded stylings of Bliss Release, the band escaped to the countryside for the new record to work with producer and engineer Barny Barnicott (Spiritualized, Arctic Monkeys, Temper Trap, Franz Ferdinand.) The resulting Dream Cave captures an utterly unique sound, an addictive swirl that blurs the psychedelic guitar pop and soaring West Coast harmonies of their debut with warm electronics, programmed loops and reverb-soaked percussion.

Dream Cave undoubtedly marks the evolution of Cloud Control’s elegant, psychedelic pop sound, a growth that is the result of three years spent living, writing and playing in the UK. As frontman Alister Wright explains, “we’re all feeling pretty proud of it. I think that’s all you can do, try and make something you like and put it in the world – maybe people will like it, maybe you can change a couple of perspectives.”
