Amidst a small handful of U.S. dates, including sold-out shows at The Mercury Lounge in New York, and Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco, Australia’s Cloud Control have now debuted their brand new video for their recent single “Scar” on VEVO. The single is the second track to be lifted from their forthcoming second album, Dream Cave, due out on September 17th via Votiv.

Originally hailing from Australia’s Blue Mountains, but now residing in the UK, Cloud Control – Alister Wright,  Heidi Lenffer, Ulrich Lenffer and Jeremy Kelshaw – released their debut album Bliss Release in 2011 to critical acclaim. Consequence of Sound says of the band’s debut that “Cloud Control masterfully craft their own special brand of folk-infused, psychedelic pop…Bliss Release…not only sticks but stays.” After its release, the album was well received by the likes of Tiny Mix Tapes, NME, MXDWN, and Drowned in Sound, just to name a few. Whereas their debut was mostly recorded at home (laid to tape in Jeremy’s parents’ living room with engineer Liam Judson), for Dream Cave, Cloud Control decamped to the  Kent countryside with producer and mix engineer Barny Barnicott (whose credits include work with Arctic Monkeys, Plan B, Peace and Franz Ferdinand) to capture something utterly unique – an addictive swirl that  uniquely blurs together the psychedelic guitar pop and soaring West Coast harmonies of their debut with  warm electronics, programmed loops and reverb-soaked percussion.

Dream Cave undoubtedly marks the evolution of Cloud Control’s elegant, psychedelic pop sound, a growth that is the result of three years spent living, writing and playing in the UK. As frontman Alister Wright explains, “We’re all feeling pretty proud of it. I think that’s all you can do, try and make something you like and put it in the world – maybe people will like it, maybe you can change a couple of perspectives.”

In addition to their short North American tour this August, the band will be opening a full UK and European tour with Local Natives this fall.
