DJ, producer & vocalist Colette has grown from an integral part of the Chicago underground into a breakout musical triple-threat releasing her most accomplished and fully realized artistic statement to date: today, she releases her highly anticipated new full-length album, When The Music’s Loud, via her own imprint Candy Talk Records- available now via iTunes and other prominent digital retailers.

When The Music’s Loud album opener “Best Of Days” features Colette’s sleek vocals, oozing sex appeal, gliding over its thumping bassline & pulsating rhythms. A perfect anthem for fearless, humid summer nights, the uplifting track immediately commands its listeners to move. The video provides viewers with an intimate sneak peek into Colette’s alluring life- from spinning late-night parties to the recording studio- atop a magnificent tableau that pays homage to her hometown, Chicago.

Inspired by 80’s futurism, the shades of Italo-disco, house and electronica found on When The Music’s Loud reveal an artist open to infinite possibilities. Colette’s enduring Chicago connection is most apparent within album cut “Hotwire”, which rides over the instrumental beat of acid house legend Adonis’ 1986 underground club classic, “No Way Back.”

Influenced by Kraftwerk, Africa Bambaataa and Romanthony, When The Music’s Loud displays both lounge and uptempo tracks showcasing Colette’s world-renowned vocal talent and musical range. The album ventures into new sonic territory for Colette, from intimate bedroom beats to stadium-shaking dance anthems: When the Music’s Loud is the sound of an artist at the peak of her powers. For the first time without a major label, Colette is self-releasing her album through PledgeMusic.

Colette has kicked off an international tour in support of the new record. Be sure to catch her one-of-a-kind live show & stay tuned for more exciting news from Colette coming soon!
