Cookies (ex-Mobius Band) Re-Dips Tom Vek’s “Someone Loves You” + NYC Show

By on December 8, 2011

NYC trio Cookies has debuted a brand new remix of Tom Vek’s song “Someone Loves You” that I wanted to share with you. The reworking follows their excellent Halloween-released cover of Janet Jackson’s “Love Will Never Do (Without You).” Ben Sterling of Cookies says, “To me, the best way to approach a remix is by truly recasting a song in your voice.”
Download “Someone Loves You” in Cookies’ fashion at SoundCloud or check out the premiere from Interview Magazine, who’s described them as a “hip-hop-infused electro-pop trio.” Also, listen to some of their other great tunes at:
Cookies is Ben Sterling of Mobius Band joined by Melissa Metrick and Ian Ainley. Below you’ll see Cookies also re-dipped Vek’s album cover by tagging it with their own silver graffito. “Spray paint is hard,” Sterling admits. “Props to Style Wars.”

If you live in the NYC area be sure to check out their set at Cameo Gallery tomorrow night Thursday, 12/8 with Glass Ghost and Little Horns. Doors at 8pm!
