This has been a big week for Homeskool Prom Records / Warner Music Canada recording artist Courage My Love. On Tuesday they received their very first Juno Award nomination (Canada’s equivalent of The Grammys) for “Breakthrough Group Of The Year” and on Wednesday it was announced that they will be added to the bill of the 2014 VANS Warped Tour which hits 42 cities across North America starting in Houston, Texas on June 13 and ending August 3 in Denver, Colorado.  The tour includes Canadian dates in Toronto (Molson Canadian Amphitheatre) on July 4 and Montreal (Parc Jean Drapeau) on July 5.  For a full listing of 2014 VANS Warped tour dates click here.

The Kitchener, Ontario-based Courage My Love is led by singer/guitarist Mercedes Arn-Horn and her twin sister Phoenix (drums/vocals).  The group is rounded out by bassist Brandon Lockwood.  In the summer of 2013 the band released its sophomore EP, Becoming before heading out on the road for a full slate of tour dates that culminated in a performance at the fabled CMJ Music Festival in New York City late in the summer that created the kind of buzz that led to the band being added to the bill of the VANS Warped tour.  Earlier in the summer, Courage My Love graced the cover of Canadian Musician Magazine under the headline “The New Breed Of Canadian Recording Artist?”

Since being discovered in a local battle of the bands contest, Courage My Love have since cut their teeth and built their audience with fiery live performances. In 2012 they became the youngest band ever to make it into the finals at the Indie Week Music Festival not once, but two years in a row while Mercedes was voted “Best Guitarist” at Indie Week 2011.  In the April 2012 issue of Alternative Press Magazine, Courage My Love were pegged as one of the Top 100 Bands To Know in 2012.  The group’s debut EP, For Now, was released in Canada in the Fall of 2011 and in Japan in the Summer of 2012.  The Japanese release was followed up by a live showcase in the land of the Rising Sun six months later.

The band have produced a number of popular broadcast and viral videos (over 4.3 million views on the band’s youtube channel):
