Cumulus is excited to announce upcoming tour dates for 2014. The Seattle trio will hit the ground running in the New Year as they support their debut album I Never Meant It To Be Like This, released this fall on Death Cab For Cutie guitarist/producer Chris Walla’s Trans- Records. I Never Meant It To Be Like This has been aptly described as “deftly flickering guitar pop (Spin)” that will “give you shivers (Nylon)” with its “crunchy grunge-indebted pop (Seattle Weekly). “Dreamy indie rock that wanders into twee territory only to be interrupted by the contrast of raucous guitars.”The Stranger

Cumulus, comprised of Alexandra Niedzialkowski (vocals, guitar), Lance Umble (guitars, keyboards), and Leah Julius (bass), recorded their debut album at Phil Elverum’s The Unknown studio in Anacortes, WA. With their friend Nich Wilbur acting as engineer, the band self-produced the record, and then had it professionally mixed by Sam Winston (The Lonely Forest), and mastered by TW Walsh (Pedro the Lion, Sufjan Stevens, Damien Jurado).
