Dave Elkins (Mae) Co-Writes w/ Stephen Christian (Anberlin) on New Album

By on March 27, 2013

After shocking fans and supporters when his month-long IndieGoGo campaign successfully raised over $50,000, Mae’s frontman, Dave Elkins independently released his first solo album Color (n.). Inside The Lines to fans delight. Pursuing his new musical endeavor under the moniker Schematic, the highly anticipated LP was released digitally on March 5, 2013. Idobi Radio exclaimed, “Schematic shows a music side of Elkins that fans have yet to see.”

Elkins expands:

“Having my own studio and three years to write, record, and produce my debut solo album has proven to be the only way Color (n.) Inside The Lines could exist.  With Mae enjoying hiatus, I’ve still needed to create, write and put out something showing people what I’m up to.  Having no pretense and no one to cater to, this is the first record I’ve written completely for myself since Mae’s Destination: Beautiful, which is now over 10 years old.  Starting over as an artist with a new record and identity is intimidating. But I’m incredibly proud of this record and I hope I’ll get to connect with people because of it.”

Fans are in for a treat with the new album as Elkins collaborated with multiple heavy hitters including Stephen Christian of Anberlin, a personal friend of Elkins. Christian co-wrote “What It Means” with Elkins, which according to idobi Radio is the “perfect concluding track that is bound to steal the heart of any listener, regardless of what you think of Elkin’s other new material.” For more information on the collaboration with Christian check out Elkins’ latest interview with Front Row Live Entertainment before the Schematic show in Fullerton, California here: http://bit.ly/10istiH
