Devildriver @ Shaka’s Sept 14th 2017

By on September 19, 2017

What else can you do on a Thursday night? Oh yeah a freakin onslaught of metal! I could see in the distance the venue and what looked like a line or maybe people line dancing haha. Just made it in to catch the opener, here we go. Lights dim down and first up local opener band Slaghead a progressive sludge metal band from Hampton, VA. I only can say this band might go far. Next up Tetrarch is a Nu-Metalcore band out of Atlanta, GA. The band currently resides in Los Angeles. They just released an album called “Freak”. So far night has been rocking! Next to hit the stage Uncured a progressive death metal band from New York, NY. I have to say not hearing of this band until now they just killed it on stage. High energy and killer riffs have to check these guys out. Next band to hit the stage Cane Hill formed in 2011 this band has been turning up the mosh pit with their Nu metal style. Alright on to 36 Crazyfists formed back in 1994, most of the band members are from Anchorage Alaska. These guys have been living metal since 1994 that’s just insane! Now for the headliner one of my favorite’s for sure. Devildriver formed in 2002. Starting off with “End of the Line” with deep riffs and double tapping bass this just ignites the mosh pit! On to “Hold back the day” Dez’s vocals were on point throughout the night. Next “Daybreak” just throwing down crowd favorites. The 13 song set was just enough. Ending the set with “Meet the wretched” we are all wanting more next time they come around! So all you metalheads don’t miss out when this tour hits your town!
