LA based experimental rock band DOT HACKER is currently streaming the second half of their two-part release, How’s Your Process? (Play), exclusively at All Music. In addition to streaming their new album, the band has announced a stretch of six dates with New York’s Blonde Redhead, set to kick off on November 11th in San Francisco. Dot Hacker has had an eventful 2014 – arguably the busiest year of the band’s seven year tenure. They’ve sold out multiple west coast markets – highlighted by a wall-to-wall packed house at The Echo in Los Angeles in August – along with receiving much praise from such publications as Billboard, Consequence of Sound, and The Wall Street Journal.
“I get off on seeing if I can pack a lot of information into a pop song format, but seeing if you can do it without sounding turgid,” explains frontman Josh Klinghoffer in his recent interview with All Music. “There’s a song called ‘Somersault’ on this album, I can’t believe it actually came together. It sounds kind of simple but it never really goes back to its beginning, it’s always evolving.” One could argue that this format parallels that of Dot Hacker – always evolving and growing into something new, as fans saw during the transition from the band’s 2012 debut Inhibition to 2014’s dual How’s Your Process? releases.
How’s Your Process? (Play) will officially be released tomorrow (10/7) via ORG Music in digital, CD cassette, and 12″ vinyl formats, including a special limited edition color vinyl. Physical copies of the album can be purchased HERE. For more information on Dot Hacker, visit www.dothacker.org.
