Focus On: The Jason Adamo Band’s Happy Accident, “Be My Mary”
New EP “Bricks & Mortar” Out Now

While in the studio recording their new EP Bricks & Mortar, out now on iTunes and in stores, The Jason Adamo Band gave birth to a “happy accident.” The tight, full-bodied 6-piece had created a straight up country ballad with their song “Be My Mary.”

It started with a slow acoustic ballad with a 70s folk vibe and strong melody. “I thought if we just sped it up by ten or twenty beats-per-minute and put a straightforward rock drum beat behind it, it would be a great song,” says the band’s bassist and producer John Briggs. “It wasn’t until halfway through recording that it was apparent we had just produced our first country song, and totally by accident.”

The song is recorded as a duet and features Katelyn Clamplett, the “edgier Taylor Swift,” an LA-based singer/songwriter and nationally touring background singer for Selena Gomez.

North Carolina’s Jason Adamo Band released their new EP Bricks & Mortar on June 5, 2012. The album, recorded at K House Recording Studio in Raleigh, NC and produced by the band’s own John Briggs, follows their 2010 full-length Transistor. The Jason Adamo Band recently wrapped a 2-month national tour.

“The Jason Adamo Band…bulges with emotive anthems, surging melodies, towering refrains and passionate performances. This is music that would sound just fine on rock radio playlists between mainstays U2, Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen.” — M Music & Musicians Magazine
