Drawcard release new single and East Coast (Australia) tour dates

By on June 30, 2014

Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia usually produces the very finest in Singer/Songwriters, Folk/Dub/Reggae/Acoustic Musicians. Such is the calling of the peaceful sea breeze and beautiful, serene beaches.

Not so with Drawcard!!!

They are the exception to the rule – they are the catalyst, the firestarter, the big bang to get the party started. We find Drawcard teetering on the fringe of reality and madness – Tasty melodies, killer riffs, catchy choruses and thought provoking lyrics mean that there are often crazy gyrating bodies on the dancefloor and being thrown across the stage. To sum up – all members in Drawcard have Bachelor’s Degrees in “Tumultuous Partying” and a sheer knack for writing catchy melody laden post punk rock anthems.

A seasoned touring and festival act with an EP and an album already to their name, Drawcard have a brand new single – Kids – the first cut from a brand new EP to come later in 2014. It was recorded with “insert name here” at Something Studios in Sydney in early 2014. The track will be released to fans to purchase on Friday July 25th. A filmclip for the infectious track is due mid July!

‘Kids’ is a cracking song about wishing for simpler times “when we were kids.” It’s an upbeat, nostalgic track that doesn’t let up until the final chord has been struck. Drawcard’s frontman, Paul Durkin’s vocal hook anchors the chorus of the track and defies anyone to get it out of their head.

To celebrate, they are heading out on the road through August 2014 and taking it down the East Coast of Australia and hitting their Hometown of Maroochydore, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne, Frankston and Bendigo.

Proving that they have what it takes time and time again, they have shared the stage with the likes of Taking Back Sunday, Unwritten Law, Grinspoon, Guttermouth, Birds of Tokyo, Parkway Drive, Dead Letter Circus, Dallas Frasca, Closure in Moscow and the list goes on! Two singles off their sophomore 5 track EP debuted at No.4 and No.5 in the AMRAP Australian Independent Music Charts and remained in the Top 10 for 3 weeks alongside artists including Children Collide, The Temper Trap and Hilltop Hoods PLUS their debut album was mixed by Sylvia Massy (TOOL, Red Hot Chili Peppers, COG) in California and is distributed nationally in the U.S. and Canada with SONY Red.
