Drivin N Cryin releasing 2nd EP, touring, working on 3rd EP

By on September 22, 2012

The second installment in Drivin N Cryin four EPs over twelve months master plan, “Songs About Cars, Space and The Ramones,” is now ready for release on the band’s own New! Records label October 2. This nod to the early DNC punk influences contains 6 songs produced by underground superhero Paul Ebersold (Paul’s worked with Keith Richards, Spacehog, 3 Doors Down, Clive Davis, Slobberbone, et al) and recorded in the legendary Sound Kitchen Recording Studios in Nashville, TN. Don’t let the idea of the Country Music Capital Of The World fool you. These 6 tunes hit it and hit hard! Good friend and co-conspirator of all things punk Cheetah Chrome makes a guest appearance as does up-and-coming chanteuse Takyah White. The band are supporting this release with a series of Southern and East Coast dates.

Songs About Cars, Space and The Ramones Track listing:
Hot Wheels
Acceleration
Johnny Rides Shotgun
Moonshot
Out Here In The Middle Of Nowhere
Space Eyes

Kevn Kinney: vocals, guitars
Tim Nielsen: bass, back up vocals
Dave V. Johnson: drums, back up vocals
Sadler Vaden: guitars, back up vocals.

Meanwhile, the band are still at it. EP3 round 1 recordings took place over Labor Day weekend at Ocean Industries Recording Studios in James Island, SC. Overdubs will begin this week in Atlanta. Slated for a January 2013 release, this set of songs was tentatively titled Songs From The Garage. Well, that’s changed a little. The word Songs still remains. But with a working title of “Songs From The Psychedelic Time Clock,” you can expect DNC to deliver something from left field. Cool, but hot. Crazy, but cool. Serious and introspective, yet hummable. Just sayin’. I guess you had to be there. At the recording sessions, that is. You’ll get it when you get it. The CD or DL, that is.
