Electro pop songstress Bird Call shares mp3s for “Miracle Man” and “Phantom Limbs”

By on February 9, 2013

The first two singles from Brooklyn’s own electro pop songstress Bird Call are now available for download via the project’s Souncloud. The tracks, “Miracle Man” and “Phantom Limbs”, highlight songwriter Chiara Angelicola’s transition from more traditional instrumentation into the realm of emotionally charged electronic performance pop with a nod to the stars–or as Bird Call puts it “A grimy alien romance in outer space”.

Early last year Angelicola teamed up with producer Bryan Senti (Mark Ronson, Rufus Wainwright) and together embarked on a transformation in soundscapes and collaboration. The project’s forthcoming debut LP under the new sound Will We Get To Mars? is slated to drop later this year and showcases over a year’s worth of songwriting and production experimentation for the duo.

Much of the record’s’ lyrical content explores a particularly turbulent past relationship for Angelicola, lending a particular efficacy to the new collection of tracks. This past fall, Bird Call unveiled the first taste “Miracle Man”  accompanied by a striking video (HERE) featuring Vogue dancer Dashaun Wesley aka Dashaun Evisu and Angelicola in kaleidoscopic visions with a galactic twist.

Live, Bird Call is backed by a live band featuring Angelicola on vocal/ synth, Spencer Zahn on bass/ synth and Ian Cheng on Drums, having shared the the stage with similarly placed artist like Majical Cloudz and Angel Olsen. For those in the New York area you can catch Bird Call live for the following dates:

February 8th @ Pianos w/ Neighbors, Joywave
February 23rd @ Glasslands w/ Rarechild
March 13th @ Cameo Gallery VOGUE OFF hosted by Dashaun Evisu Wesley w/ Bird Call (DJ set), Bright Future (DJ set)
