“Elska is crazy awesome electronic funderworld faerie tunes for the whole family.” – Mike Jorgensen, Wilco

Performance artist Shelley Wollert and producer Allen Farmelo unveil their latest collaboration Elska, a whimsical, kid-and-parent friendly indie-pop project that artfully chisels out a middle-earth between Björk and Dr. Seuss via the debit album Middle Of Nowhere, released this week on Winter Bear Records.
Coinciding with the release is the debut video for Hiddi Hiddi – which means “hello” on the fictional Island Of Elska. Shot on location in Iceland the sparkling modern video is directed by Farmelo (The Cinematic Orchestra and Talk Normal), edited by JoLynn Garnes (Flaming Lips, Bon Iver, Liz Phair), and features costumes designed by Icelandic textile artist Sigga.
Stay tuned for forthcoming videos from Oscar-winning visual-effects cinematographer Alex Funke (The Lord of the Rings) and stop motion animator Andy Biddle (Wallace & Gromit, Fantastic Mr. Fox).
