Emporium: Journey Towards The Afterlife

By on October 19, 2012

Hailing from Edinburgh, Emporium started out in 1999 with their debut album “A Fine Fine Line”.

Going on to release several albums and numerous singles, they show no signs of slowing down as we dive into a new decade of the 21st century, crafting a brand new album, “The Afterlife”.

Emporium bring back their signature tunes, drenched deep into a pool of influences that encompass the past decades of music, from the gripping melodies of British invasion pop to garage rock grit and 70s psychedelic trips. Think Pink Floyd and Genesis meeting half way with the Beatles and The Zombies, and you start to have a great hint of where the sound of the band is headed, but it doesn’t stop there, and this record is far from being an operation to cash in on nostalgia. The band does not only demonstrate these influences with their own unique personality, but they bring them up to date with our age, “upgrading” the vintage vibe with a massive, wide soundscape.

”The Afterlife” is released on December 22nd 2012.
