Born in Ashland, Oregon now based in Los Angeles, Carolyne Neuman is NOVI. Her wavelengths of sound are defiant and poignant, resonating with her unique perceptions and insightful take on what’s happening. A one-woman galactic force of nature.  Her music blends small town charm with a big city edge and brash lyrics all wrapped up in a futuristic dance party.

Novi will be beaming down for a series of live shows with full band in Los Angeles and beyond. Details coming soon.

Neuman took the moniker NOVI, from her last name Neuman which means New-Man, and translates to the Latin phrase ‘Homo Novus.’  NOVI redefines what it means to be an artist in music.

The world first discovered NOVI when her song “All The Way” appeared on the hit television series “One Tree Hill.”  A critically acclaimed EP followed that.  Released in 2011, NOVI’s EP Now I’m Here featured the unabashed single “Blackbirds” which was mixed by music legend Brian Malouf (Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince). The lyrics “I See Blackbird Fucking…” caused an uproar when Clear Channel’s KTCL 93.3 Denver played the song unedited.  Beyond the shock value, listeners were intrigued by NOVI’s unabashed and pure songwriting skills.

NOVI is currently recording her sophomore EP, Now I’m There at The Realm Studio in Hollywood with producer Lee Miles (Oh My Stars, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Puddle of Mudd, Tickle Me Pink, Black Lodge) and guitarist, Luke Thomas.  The album features a diverse collection sparkling pop including first single “The Ad” which has a mild Motown tinge. STREAM “The Ad” HERE. Another track, “Whiskey and Fireflies” is a charmingly upbeat ode to her Oregon roots. Recently, NOVI’s jazzy retro tinged track “Nightfalls” was featured on the NBC series “SMASH.” This is just the beginning of a future as bright as all the stars in the sky.
