Grammy award winner Everlast has premiered his new video for the acoustic version of the House of Pain classic “Jump Around”
The track appears on Everlast’s new album “The Life Acoustic”, which was released via his own label Martyr Inc. Records. Everlast has also announced a new batch of headlining tour dates in support of “The Life Acoustic” beginning November 13th in Hermosa Beach, CA.
“I’ve been doing a lot of acoustic shows lately, and at almost every show someone yells out ‘Jump Around’ jokingly. After sharing that with David Choe on his Podcast and with some encouragement from Dave, I decided in the studio that night to see if I could make it work. The end result was better than I thought and I found it quite funny and entertaining so I decided to include it on ‘The Life Acoustic’ LP,” said Everlast. “After a couple of radio stations added it without any real prompting we decided to shoot a video. I had a tiny seed of an idea for the ‘Jump Around’ part involving a skater getting some air and called my buddy Nick Tershay aka Nick ‘Diamond’ about using a skate pool at his warehouse. He informed me it was full of product at the time. He loved the idea of skating being involved and made a few calls. The next thing I knew I had a skate park and some of the best skaters on the planet showing up and showing mad love. I also called my buddy Risk, one of the best Graf writers ever, to add a little color to the shoot. The video is completely unrehearsed and no real planning just having some fun and having a few laughs.”
Everlast’s latest project, “The Life Acoustic” is a sort of retrospective on the singer/songwriter’s career with classic tracks reworked and stripped down to their acoustic essence. The album features a mixture of signature Everlast songs, as well as covers. Everlast’s “The Life Acoustic” is available online at http://smarturl.it/TheLifeAcoustic.
