Experimental Danish pop trio WhoMadeWho will be invading the U.S. in support of their freshly released EP There’s A Way (Remixes) – the follow-up to their recently released EP Ember. There’s A Way (Remixes) on Get Physical Music is available now through online retailer Beatport and will be available everywhere on August 14, 2015. The 4-song remix EP includes remixes of their down-tempo track “There’s A Way” by Andhim, Jazzuelle, and T.M.A. along with the original mix.
Notoriously known for their live show, WhoMadeWho is ready to live up to everyone’s expectations. Seattle’s alt-weekly The Stranger tagged them Best Show at SXSW in 2010 declaring, “the danciest dance band and the rockingest rock band I’ve seen all festival”. Brooklyn Vegan asserted, “they’re definitely a don’t miss band”. Their five show venture and first U.S. tour since 2011 will kick off at Miami’s Grand Central on September 3 rd, head northeast to Brooklyn for an intimate performance at Baby’s All Right, set out for two shows in Texas including UTOPIA Festival, then make a beeline for California to conclude at The Roxy in West Hollywood.
2014’s critically hailed and their best-selling album Dreams cemented them on the radar. Pitchfork professed, “The songs are artfully composed, and after a couple listens, they lodge in your head and stay there.” AllMusic expressed, “Sweet, smooth, sincere, and smart, Dreams is an unexpected plush pillow from the group, so think of an after-party or afternoon record that could please the Daft Punk, Giorgio Moroder, Tensnake, and LCD Soundsystem crowds and you’re in the vicinity of this humble roller.” Inyourspeakers called it “an inspiring mosaic of heart-pumping tracks and lovely musical arrangements.” CLASH added, “The Danish group spin a heady web of electronics, taking on board post-punk and psychedelic influences in the process.”
Danish producer and drummer Tomas Barfod, jazz guitarist Jeppe Kjellberg, and David Bowie-loving bassist Tomas Hoffding formed WhoMadeWho in Copenhagen in 2003. They’ve toured the globe numerous times and have played alongside bands such as LCD Soundsystem, Daft Punk, and Hot Chip. Festival appearances include Roskilde, Glastonbury, Lowlands, and FIB among many others. Also, the band has done remixes for a multitude of bands including Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip, and GOTYE. In addition, WhoMadeWho has received the remix treatment from Hot Chip, Rapture, and many others. Queens of the Stone Age has even covered their song “Space For Rent”.
WhoMadeWho is Tomas Barfod (drums), Jeppe Kjellberg (guitar), and Tomas Hoffding (bass).
