Liverpool-based quartet F.O.E.S are today pleased to announce they will be embarking on a UK tour in February and March 2014 in support of their forthcoming five-track EP titled ‘Ophir’ which is set for release on February 10th 2014 with a limited edition vinyl pressing.
To celebrate the news, they are also sharing the atmospheric video for their third single, the haunting and powerful post-rock track ‘Ningyo’ (a fish-like creature from Japanese folklore) after premiering with Gigwise.
“Ningyo is a little removed from everything else we’ve done,” explains guitarist Joe Danher “There’s a lot of bittersweet in there, so we really wanted the track to be all about the bare vocal and Chris’ lyrics. It’s a step away from the usual frenetic sound of our band.”
Recently playing alongside 36 Crazyfists, No Age, The Icarus Line and Hacktivist in their home town of Liverpool where they are quickly building a solid fan base, the band have also landed a front cover feature for nationally respected local music magazine Bido Lito! for February alongside support from Rock Sound, BBC Introducing and more.
Their powerful, cinematic post-hardcore alt-rock sound has already seen them variously compared to At The Drive In, Deftones and Circa Survive and FOES will be announcing a UK tour in support of the EP release in the near future.
