FEEL GOOD (ex-This Day Will Tell) Releases New Song “It’d Be A Lot Cooler If You Did,” Announces New EP

By on March 20, 2013

After releasing his mixtape Weekend Life last summer, former This Day Will Tell bassist Robby Tucker’s solo hip-hop project FEEL GOOD is back with a new single and plans for a new EP. “It’d Be A Lot Cooler If You Did” may be streamed on YouTube and will be featured on the forthcoming EP entitled Keep Calm And Feel Good. Robby commented on the song by saying, “The track is actually a remake of a track that was on my first mixtape I ever made. I recorded the whole tape with the internal microphone of my laptop on tour, so it didn’t get heard that much. I found the current beat for it, and it just fit perfectly. The lyrics very accurately represent everything I’m about, so it was definitely a fun one. Plus the name is a Dazed And Confused reference, so there you go.”
Keep Calm And Feel Good is set for a summer release with Robby commenting on the EP, “The EP title is obviously a spinoff of the ” Keep Calm and…” trend. It was originally an idea for a shirt, and it eventually seemed like a proper title for the feel of the EP. While my first mixtape was definitely a direct influence of one certain mindset, I wanted the whole tape to sound like a day at the beach, I’ve really come to appreciate and draw influence from one side of the music spectrum to the other. I really started appreciating organic music that was appreciated for exactly what it was, especially more classic experimental rock bands. I tried to put a lot more experimentation into the EP, and make it less of a Hip Hop mixtape and more of an artistic mini record. It’s something I would want somebody to be able to turn on, and just think about while listening. I don’t want to be considered a cheap rapper releasing mindless cheap music. I perform with influence from my favorite hardcore bands, and make my music with all the influence I’ve ever had from music and art in general.”
