The following three titles will be released on 22nd June 2015
Black Sabbath – BMGRM053LP – Gatefold sleeve – Single LP (Original release 13th Feb 1970)
Black Sabbath is the eponymous debut studio album. Released in 1970 the album reached number eight on the UK Albums Chart and number 23 on the Billboard charts. Based around their live set, it was recorded in a twelve-hour session in October 1969 and is regarded by many as one of the most significant albums in the development of Heavy Metal.
Paranoid – BMGRM054LP – Gatefold sleeve – Single LP (Original release 18th Sept 1970)
Paranoid is the second studio album by English rock band Black Sabbath. It was the band’s first LP to top the UK Albums Chart. It is often regarded as one of the most quintessential and influential albums in heavy metal history. Contains the title track which was their only Top 5 single.
Master Of Reality – BMGRM055LP – Embossed sleeve – Single LP (Original release 21st July 1971)
Master of Reality is the third studio album. It is widely regarded as the foundation of doom, stoner and sludge metal and their most sonically influential work. The final Black Sabbath album to be produced by Roger Bain.
The following three titles will be released on 29th June 2015:
Vol 4. – BMGRM056LP – Gatefold sleeve – Single LP (Original release 25th Sept 1972)
Vol. 4 is the fourth studio album. It was the first album by Black Sabbath not produced by Rodger Bain; guitarist Tony Iommi assumed production duties. In June 2013 Mojo declared, “If booze and dope had helped fuel Sabbath’s earlier albums, Vol. 4 is their cocaine
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath – BMGRM057LP – Gatefold sleeve – Single LP (Original release 1st Dec 1973)
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is the fifth studio album. It was produced by the band and Tom Allom and recorded at Morgan Studios in London in September 1973. For the first time in their career, the band began to receive favourable reviews in the mainstream press, with Rolling Stone calling the album “an extraordinarily gripping affair”, and “nothing less than a complete success.
Sabotage – BMGRM058LP – Single LP (Original release 28th July 1975)
Sabotage is the sixth studio album. It was recorded in the midst of litigation with their former manager Patrick Meehan and the stress that resulted from the band’s ongoing legal woes infiltrated the recording process, inspiring the album’s title. It was co-produced by guitarist Tony Iommi and Mike Butcher. Again it received favourable reviews…Rolling Stone stating “Sabotage is not only Black Sabbath’s best record since Paranoid, it might be their best ever”
The final two titles will be released on 13th July 2015:
Technical Ecstacy – BMGRM059LP – Single LP (Original release 25th Sept 1976)
Technical Ecstasy is the seventh studio album produced by guitarist Tony Iommi. The album received mixed reviews upon its release, with Phil Alexander writing in 1998, “While today hardcore Sabs fans defend some of the bold steps taken on Technical Ecstasy, it was a confused offering which still hit Number 13 in the UK but limped into the US charts at 52.”
Never Say Die – BMGRM060LP – Single LP (Original release 28th Sept 1978)
Never Say Die! is the eighth studio album. It was the final Black Sabbath studio album to feature vocalist Ozzy Osbourne prior to his departure from the band in 1979 (until the 2013 album 13), and the last full studio album to feature the band’s original lineup.
