From Hell have released today their new seven-song album, Heresy, via Paper + Plastick Records.
Revolver recommended the band for fans of “Black Breath, Trap Them, Converge, Integrity, Zao, Early Graves, and/or Black Anvil,” and two of the tracks on the album – “Unholy” and “No Place Like Hell” – can be downloaded for free in the album stream widget on the website.
Heresy is available in vinyl and digital formats via Paper + Plastick — it’s available for purchase here. The vinyl pressing is limited to only 650 units on one-sided 12″ wax with a silk-screened B-side. The jackets for the release will be hand-screened and the ink used in the screening process was mixed with samples of the band members’ blood!
From Hell has received huge amounts of press in the leadup to releasing Heresy. Here are some highlights:

From Hell can spin their sound any number of ways, but, the truth is, they are probably having a bit of mischief with a description of a sound that pulls in as many different directions as there are explodo-throat moments of fierce, faceripping freak-outery on debut album, Heresy.
Song premiere of “Terror” via JadedPunk.com:
Our song of the day today has a real holy shit factor to it. This Detroit band, From Hell, came from seemingly nowhere to create a debut record that is so brain-blisteringly powerful that it sounds like they’ve been around for 20 years. Speaking of bands that have been around for 20 years, From Hell sound a lot like Converge’s most recent records … Oh and there’s something else super batshit nuts about this album that I’m forgetting. What is it? Oh right. THE BAND SCREENPRINTED THE RECORDS WITH THEIR OWN BLOOD.

Fans of Converge, Black Breath, Trap Them and DAMN HEAVY MUSIC in general, listen up, we’ve got a new band for you.

Press materials call the band “hardcore,” but really, they’re much more than that. There’s sparse elements of black metal to their sound, as well as thrash components. If you dig Black Breath, Zao, Trap Them, Converge, Black Anvil, Integrity, and Early Graves, you may latch on to From Hell

More about From Hell:
Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, a city of desolation, mayhem, and destruction, From Hellstarted as a side project from multiple other established bands in the Detroit area with the direction of doing something that more appropriately expressed their views, not only through the subject matter and lyrical content of the songs, but through the tone and mood of the music itself. With an appropriate darkness, anger and depression that reflected their surroundings, this band quickly became the main focus of all the members, with a true representation of their feelings in a musical and lyrical display.
Taking influences from bands like Integrity, Gorgoroth, Infest, His Hero Is Gone, and Converge, they’ve managed to craft a blackened hardcore metal sound with heavy low crushing slow parts, to fast aggressive in your face fast parts that’s incomparable, and untouchable by any other band. With a live show that has a strong emphasis on tone and massive amounts of gear, and the drive to make a name as one of the loudest, tightest and heaviest live bands doing it right now, the band quickly caught everyone’s attention. After multiple us tours, and a constant active local presence, the band is quickly climbing to the top and crushing everything in their path.
