Ghost “Popestar” Tour @ The NorVa June 8th

By on June 10, 2017

On a nice warm Thursday night I could see in the distance the venue and what looked like a line that stretched for a city block. Oh it’s going to be a great night I could tell already. Opening up a band called Royal Thunder a band out of Atlanta. Formed in 2004 this band has a blend of grunge and hard rock sound. Playing for a set 8 songs consisting of “Burning Tree”, “April Showers” and “Anchor”. The crowd seem to enjoy their set and  gave them a warm goodbye as they exited the stage. So as the stage is set for Ghost, I could see that the venue is just about filled to max capacity. As the intro music “Masked Ball” starts the fans are amped and cheer “Ghost”! As they wait for them to enter the stage. Shadow figures start to appear on the stage as the intro music starts to fade out and it begins! Starting off with “Square Hammer” off the Popstar Album. A crowd favorite. Next Ghost played “From the Pinnacle to the Pit” off the the latest Meliora album. A catchy tune with dark lyrics leading into “Con Clavi Con Dio” a demonic almost haunting song. Ghost has such a great stage presence that keeps you staring as they play.  With a 14 song set with 1 encore playing “Monstrance Clock” as they bid The Norva and all their fans farewell. If you have a chance to catch Ghost as they hit your area I would say you are in for a treat. With a vast stage set up and costumes it’s a sight to see and hear.
