At the inaugural Governors Ball Music Festival there will be plenty to do in between sets. In partnership with The Official World Series of Beer Pong (WSOBP), Governors Ball will play host to a beer pong tournament. Attendees can team up and compete for a chance to win prizes including Backstage Passes, Merch, 2012 Governors Ball Tickets, and a spot at the 2011 WSOBP National Championships (where the grand prize is $50,000). Governors Ball has also partnered with SPiN New York to bring Ping Pong to the festival. Ping Pong tables and SPiN New York staff will be located throughout the festival to assist in all your Ping Pong desires. The festival site also comes complete with outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, allowing festival-goers to take a break from the music and comedy to shoot some hoops or show off their beach volleyball skills. Further descriptions of Governors Ball activities, and Beer Pong Tournament sign-up information may be found below.
Yet to be announced comedians will have the crowd laughing on June 18th, but The Governors Ball Music Festival “Dance Off” video contest is already producing some entertaining and hilarious fan generated results on the Governors Ball Facebook page, including “Football Dance Down.” The contest remains open for entries until May 20th at 6 pm. Governors Ball Music Festival Activities!
Beer Pong Tournament: The official World Series of Beer Pong (WSOBP) will hold a satellite tournament at the festival, and the winning team will win backstage passes, merch, 2012 Gov Ball tickets, and a spot at the 2011 WSOBP National Championships (where the grand prize is $50,000!). Teams can SIGN UP HERE and spots are limited! Click here for more details.

Ping Pong: Thanks to our good friends at SPiN New York, attendees are able to enjoy Ping Pong at this years festival, as tables will be located around the grounds (including VIP) and SPiN New York staff will be on hand to give pointers and referee games. Be sure to stop by any of the on-site SPiN New York locations to battle your friends and bring out your inner McEnroe.

Basketball: Did you know that there is an outdoor basketball court with 5 hoops at the festival site on Governors Island? Awesome, we know. While we won’t be running a 5 on 5 tournament (or suicide drills for that matter), we will have basketballs available for all to enjoy a game of HORSE, 3-on-3, 21, or any derivative basketball game that suits your fancy. Channel your inner Amare Stoudemire and stop by.

Beach Volleyball: Our rad festival site also comes with two volleyball courts (one with sand, and one without). Volleyballs will be there for the taking, so be sure to watch the epic Top Gun volleyball scene and get that nose covered with SPF 75.
