HEARTLESS BASTARDS ANNOUNCE THIRD LEG OF NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
NEW RECORD, ARROW, OUT FEBRUARY 14th ON PARTISAN RECORDS
ARROW STREAMING THIS WEEK VIA NPR’S FIRST LISTEN

Heartless Bastards are excited to announce the third leg of dates for their North American tour. The band is touring in support of its new album, Arrow, out February 14th, which SPIN Magazine has deemed one of the “25 Winter Albums You Gotta Hear.” The third round of dates begins at Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge on May 11th and concludes at the Wakarusa Music Festival in Ozark, AK on May 31st. From February 1st to 3rd, tickets will be sold exclusively at theheartlessbastards.com, with a public on-sale date of February 3rd. The complete list of tour dates is below.
This week, Arrow received NPR’s First Listen treatment, which can be streamed here. Wowed by frontwoman Erika Wennerstrom’s “booming, throaty, commanding presence,” NPR declared “[Arrow] shines a spotlight on a rock star in the making.” NYLON lauded, “Singer Erika Wennerstrom boasts the full belt of a true pop-soul diva (think Florence without the tambourine, or Grace Slick), and her male bandmates back her every step with deep, riotous, heartland-country jams,” while Rolling Stone noted, “Each note she sings feels deeply animated, as if it’s got its own heartbeat and fully formed pair of fists.”
Be sure to check out this fantastic video of behind-the-scenes footage that was shot during the recording of Arrow, set to the album’s first single, “Parted Ways,” here. Bloggers, feel free to post!
Arrow will be released by the popular Brooklyn-based indie Partisan Records; the album was produced by Spoon drummer/co-producer Jim Eno at his Public Hi-Fi home studio in Austin. Brimming with confidence and creativity, Arrow sees Heartless Bastards pushing their distinctive sound forward with their most eclectic, energetic collection thus far. Marked as ever by singer/guitarist/songwriter Erika Wennerstrom’s remarkable voice – at turns primal and pleading, heartfelt and heroic – it expertly captures the Austin, Texas-based band’s multi-dimensional rock in all its strength and spirit. Arrow follows upon the difficult introspection of 2009’s acclaimed third album, The Mountain, standing tall as a powerhouse new beginning for Wennerstrom and the Heartless Bastards.
