LA-based three-piece Hello Echo has released a new video and 7″ vinyl for the single “Birdbeat” taken from their recent full-length debut, Hello. Directed by John Petaja and made by The Junior Society of Amateur Cinematographers, the festive video, brimming with silly string, water balloons, and general holiday fun, was filmed during Memorial Day weekend. Alongside “Birdbeat” the 7″ vinyl includes a B-side of “The Coming Days” and “Why Are We Waiting” officially available at stereowagon.com today.
Hello Echo originated after Sean Aylward (vocals, guitar) spent two years touring and recording with Apollo Sunshine (Rolling Stone Magazine’s Artist to Watch, November 2005). He headed to the West Coast and began writing and recording solo material. While on a surfing trip in Baja, Mexico, an impromptu jam arose with friends and fellow Bostonians, Mike Silva (drums, vocals) and Mike Sarno (bass). The chemistry was immediate and the band was born. KEXP noted, “Maybe it’s their East Coast roots, which combined with a youthful, laid back West Coast style, that makes for a well-rounded sound.” Hello Echo has already received national attention for their first single ” The Coming Days,” which has been on heavy rotation on Sirius XMU, KEXP Seattle, and WXRT Chicago. The band plans to release more videos throughout the fall.
