Reggae rockers IRATION are gearing up for a very busy summer. In addition to going out all summer on an amphitheater tour in support of their good friends Rebelution and making several festival appearances, the Hawaiian-bred, Santa Barbara, CA-based band has just announced six new headlining shows with support from The Green and Katastro, kicking off May 31. Tickets are on-sale now at IRATION is also having success on the airwaves as their current single “Automatic” continues building at radio.

IRATION recently wrapped up their massively successful “Automatic” Winter Tour on March 22 in front of a sold-out crowd (1700 plus) at The Grove of Anaheim in California. Video from that epic performance has been paired with a new remix of their song “Uptown” by Philippe Mathieu; check it out here: The last run also included a pair of shows at the acclaimed SXSW music festival. Jeff Leven of Hits Daily Double attended one of those shows and praised IRATION’s musicality when he said, “The energy and musical ease of California/Hawaii reggae but with a crisp songcraft that recalls powerhouse adult alternative acts like UB40 at their peak, which is why they’ve more than found a lane at Alternative radio of late. Immaculate musicianship and warm vocals pave the way for hooks that actually mean something after you’ve sung them to yourself for the dozenth time.” (3/11/14)

The band is touring behind their third full-length album AUTOMATIC. Released summer 2013, it debuted #1 on both the Billboard and iTunes Reggae Albums charts, as well as #7 on the iTunes Overall Albums chart, #75 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and #17 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart. AUTOMATIC has helped propel IRATION’s career to a new level, and the response from fans, critics and industry has been overwhelmingly positive.

On the radio front, IRATION’s “Automatic” has impacted and is building, with new adds coming on board. The band solicited multiple Grammy Award-nominated engineer/mixer/producer Mark Needham (Imagine Dragons, Killers, Neon Trees, Walk the Moon, etc) to remix the track. The song has already started receiving spins at the following stations: 91X 91.1FM San Diego, CA, WJSE 106.3FM Atlantic City, NJ, KCXX X103.9FM Riverside, CA, KJEE 92.9FM Santa Barbara, CA, KUCD 101.9FM Honolulu, HI, KTWN 96.3FM Minneapolis, MN, WRMR 98.7FM Wilmington, NC, KNOB 96.7FM Santa Rosa, CA, KFMA 102.1FM Tucson, AZ and SiriusXM’s Radio Margaritaville (Channel 24). Check out the track via a brand new lyric video featuring live footage here: The song “Automatic” is especially important to the band as it’s an ode to their fans, a heartfelt thank you for the unwavering support they’ve felt throughout their career.

Jim Maschio of WJSE 106.3FM in Atlantic City, NJ was recently asked by trade outlet FMQB “Which artists have you met recently that impressed you the most?” and he said, “Iration definitely, they’re such a great band on recording and live they’re equally as flawless.” (4/24/14)
