Baltimore, MD’s J Roddy Walston and The Business have signed to ATO Records and will be recording their third studio album to be released Summer 2013. They will be recording at Soil Of The South Studios in Georgia with Mark Neill, the Grammy-winning producer and engineer of Black Keys’ Brothers and Matt Wignall (Cold War Kids, Delta Spirit).
J Roddy Walston and The Business – comprising vocalist, guitarist and pianist J Roddy Walston, lead guitarist and vocalist Billy Gordon, bassist and vocalist Logan Davis and drummer Steve Colmus – began playing together when Walston moved from the southern church town of Cleveland, Tennessee to Baltimore. They since have earned their fans through what SPIN articulates as “full of spirited and sweaty Southern rock.” They have toured with The Hold Steady, Murder By Death and Deer Tick to name a few.
Their debut album Hail Mega Boys (2007) and sophomore self-titled album (2010) earned critical acclaim from the likes of SPIN, The Washington Post and AP Magazine. American Songwriter asserts, “J Roddy Walston and the Business grab your attention, and hold fast throughout.”
