Japonize Elephants ring in 12/12/12 celebration with fantastique musique

By on December 6, 2012

Japonize Elephants announce holiday gift for fans.  They will post a link on their website, thejaponizeelephants.com, where fans can download their new album, Mélodie Fantastique, free for 24-hours.  The give-away is slated for 12/12/12 (from 12am to 11:59pm).

The band’s non-denominational and politically correct message for this promotions is “Let us help you enjoy that special day!”

Japonize Elephants’ band members are in demand around the world with Dina Maccabee (violin) doing a state department sponsored Eastern European tour with RVSQ  and Sylvain Carton performing with Beats Antique.  Vinyl LP version of the album will be out in late January and the band’s final Bay Area performance in 2012 will be:

Saturday, December 22nd
at Awaken Café
1429 Broadway at 15th, Oakland, CA 94612
tickets $10 / doors at 7pm / Japonize Elephants at 9:30pm / also Mark Growden Trio, Ramon & Jessica

New York Music Daily wrote “In their alternate universe, bluegrass, noir cabaret, gypsy music, klezmer, movie themes and vintage Lebanese sounds all coexist simultaneously in the same song, more or less.”  Flavorpill/San Francisco added “One part gypsy bacchanal, one part satin fiddle folk, one part French circus orchestra on triple shots of espresso…” And KTVU says “…The Japonize Elephants delivers the kind of genre-hopping, musical gene splicing that has made avant-garde saxophonist John Zorn and Mr. Bungle alumni Mike Patton and Trey Spruance cult favorites with their myriad bands while approaching music from a more acoustic angle.”
