Kasper Bjørke Announces New ‘Fool’ LP out on April Fool’s Day, Prepares for March Performances in NYC

By on February 14, 2012

The versatile Copenhagen producer and DJ Kasper Bjørke has announced his third studio album, Fool, appropriately released on Fool’s Day, April 1st with hfn music (Trentemøller). Like vinyl, the album is split in two sides with a playful mixture of abundant, pop-infused bittersweet love songs on the ‘Hunger’ side, and more spaced-out psychedelic disco voyages on the ‘Foolish’ side. The first single, “Lose Yourself to Jenny” is streaming now at SoundCloud and will be released on March 5th with a remix package by Rebolledo (Comeme), Axel Boman (Pampa), Maxxi Soundsystem (Hot Waves) and Till VonSein (Suol). The LP features collaborations with Jacob Bellens (Murder and I Got You On Tape), new Danish talent Emma Acs, and one of Kasper Bjørke’s favorite bands, Laid Back. Fool is the producer’s most ambitious album to date and the followup to his successful sophomore solo album, Standing on top of Utopia. After European performances this month, Bjørke will head to the US for NYC shows, including an appearance at Tim Sweeney’s Beats in Space radio show.
Recently abandoning his A&R chair at indie label Fake Diamond, where he discovered and developed acts like Oh Land, Bjørke now mainly focuses on studio work. As a remixer, he has pretty much covered the whole spectrum, reworking tracks from Moby and Oh Land, to hfn & In My Room label mates Trentemøller and Darkness Fall. As a DJ, he continues to play at some of the most acclaimed clubs around the world, and renowned festivals including Iceland Airwaves, Roskilde and Distortion. Since January, Bjørke has been hosting a weekly radio program on DR National Radio channel P6 Beat called “4/4,” where he presents a wide spectrum of house, disco, no-wave and post punk records.
