By on February 23, 2013

It’s been five years since the release of the self-titled and critically acclaimed debut ’Kleerup’. The album which not only saw Kleerup collaborate with some of Sweden’s foremost artists, such as Titiyo, Lykke Li and Marit Bergman but also with the Swedish superstar Robyn, on the UK #1 smash hit ‘With Every Heartbeat’.

Now Kleerup is back. The new single, ‘Requiem Solution’ featuring Eurovision Winner Loreen, was released worldwide February 20th and at the same date Kleerup and Loreen performed the song during the Swedish Grammy Awards.

“The song is about hope, that everything will be fine in the end. It’s also about surviving death and about being in its boundary country” Andreas explains.

Even before Loreen starts to sing, a haunting piano intro sets the tone for the entire piece. With lyrics referring to self-discovery and spiritual awaking, Loreen’s pure voice fills us with hope and allows the strings to lift us above everyday life and the troubles we run from.

“The cooperation with Loreen started quite naturally. My friend, Peter Cartriers, is Loreen’s manager and he spoke highly of her talent and brought us together. I’ve heard “Euphoria” (the song Loreen won Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 with) and thought it was awesome. For the first time in years I thought a song for Eurovision actually had a lot of quality. Loreen is fantastic, she’s born a performer and she’s been working hard and deserves all the success” Andreas says.
