Kicking off the weekend Trapt, Saliva, Saving Abel, Alien Ant Farm, Crazy Town, Tantric and 12 stones making a stop at the NorVa in Norfolk, VA. Some of the well-known bands of the early 2000nds. The mixture of young and old fan groups of looking to see these rockers perform live once again or for the first time.
First band hitting the stage some what early 12 Stones had only a small group of fans as most of them were still entering and making there way to get some drinks. It’s a tough slot for them but you can tell they still played like they were the headliners. Best part of their 6 song set was singer Paul McCoy coming off the stage into the crowd and taking selfies while he was singing.
Next up Tantric which dominated the radio stations back in 2001 with their hit song “Breakdown” but with a little technical difficulties it seem at times you could barely hear the vocals. Another short set for these guys which to some a disappointment.
Next up Crazy Town which seem to jump start the night. High energy coming out swinging style.
The bass and guitar players were bouncing around jumping off the drum set platform. Fueling the crowds energy. The place with jumping when the began to sing “Butterfly”. One of my favorites for the night.
Next up Alien Ant Farm with a quirky stage presence they ran through their seven song set with little reaction from the fans beside when they played “Smooth Criminal” which almost everyone was waiting to hear. Next to step on stage is Saving Able which followed suit with the last four bands. Playing their hit song “Addicted” which was what the masses wanted to hear and also sing along to. Next up Saliva which had a great stage performance. Playing hits like “Always” and Click Click Boom” was able to bring life back into the zombie like fans. Last up to close out the night, Trapt enters the stage. After six band the feeling I felt was how much longer. I think much of the highlight was them playing “Head Strong” besides that the night fizzled out for me. In conclusion “Make America Rock Again” had a roller coaster effect of highs and low points.
