It’s no secret that bullying is a hot topic right now. Many celebrities are speaking out against it, in fact. While bringing awareness to the issue is a necessary piece of the puzzle, few if any of the messages represent the notion of taking back the power.
In TAYLOR BRIGHT’S “PSYCHO,” the 1st single from her forthcoming EP, Mixtape Love, the 18-year-old pop artist encourages her peers to take the power back from bullies and stalkers and adopt more of a “We’re not gonna take it,” attitude. In her very relevant, hi-energy music video for “PSYCHO,” Taylor uses her fear and turns the tables on the bully, which in this case which comes in the form of stalking.

“I really felt this is an important message for anyone who has been a victim,” says Taylor. “Too often people are scared and intimidated. I really loved being able to visualize the message in the video because it shows that by embracing that nervous energy and ultimately taking back the power, the stalker has failed and gets a taste of his own medicine.”

Taylor Bright is indeed a “Pop Artist with Purpose,” and the Philly teen returns to the international music spotlight with PSYCHO and its anti-bullying, self-empowering, platform. It’s been just over two years since she hit the Billboard Dance charts as a considerably less worldly 15-year-old with “Striped Socks,” garnering over 120,000 views. As of this morning, the state-of-the-art music video for PSYCHO, directed by Caesar Augustus of Augustus Films (Asher Roth, Busta Rhymes, Lil’ Wayne), has picked up over 40,000 views on YouTube since its Aug. 22 world premiere, more than half of the 72,000-plus YouTube views the song has earned on the whole, including behind-the-scenes rehearsal footage. Overall, Taylor Bright has more than a half million views on her YouTube Channel!
PSYCHO also has been the Featured Music Video at Musiqtone.com and is in rotation on Musicians Against Bullying (M.O.B.) here.
PSYCHO was written by RoboPop (Maroon 5, Gym Class Heroes, Neon Hitch, Cash Cash) and is the 1st single from Taylor’s upcoming debut EP.
