Metalcore Pioneers HARVEST Return with Upcoming Vinyl 7-Inch, ‘Years of Defiance. Years of Disgust.’ – – New Tour Dates Scheduled for this July
Originally formed in 1994, metalcore pioneers HARVEST are back in action, set to re-introduce the core elements of the genre to the massive sea of fans led astray by today’s pale imitations. With a new vinyl 7 inch being released physically and digitally with GOOD FIGHT MUSIC on August 2nd, 2011 entitled, Years of Defiance. Years of Disgust., the band strives to prove what Alternative Press Magazine states:HARVEST were one of the last legitimate metalcore bands to form before the scene got watered down and predictable.”
Years of Defiance. Years of Disgust. will feature two new songs, as well as the last unreleased track written in 1999 (‘Torture Inhibition’) and a new version of a song that was originally released on a 7inch compilation and Transitions (‘Soul Burn’). A special digital version of the 7-inch will include a new version of the song ‘Conditioned’ as a bonus track only available through iTunes. Years of Defiance. Years of Disgust. will be offered in two different limited  color pressings, white and clear.
Determined to create intense music regardless of geographic distance, Years of Defiance. Years of Disgust. was written and recorded in three different cities; Minneapolis, Toronto, and Sao Paulo, Brazil. Mixed by Jay Maas (Getaway Recording/Defeater) and Dan Zimmerman and mastered by Alan Douches of West West Side Mastering, Years of Defiance. Years of Disgust. promises to be the record thatHARVEST fans have been craving for over ten years.
“We are more than inspired to write the next chapter of HARVEST. We will continue to write, record and play as many shows as we can, despite being in three countries, four cities and all very much involved in our families and careers,” states vocalist David Walker. “We believe in what we’re doing and couldn’t be more excited to be playing live again!”

Based in Minneapolis, MN, HARVEST quickly signed with world-famous hardcore and metal music imprint Ferret Records in 1994 through a long standing relationship with Ferret label founder and current GOOD FIGHT MUSIC label founder Carl Severson. Severson and vocalist Dave Walker were introduced at University of Minnesota during their freshman year, and from there, the team worked together to bring the band’s 1995 debut 7inch, Worn Through The Layer Of Separation  to the masses.
“Carl Severson is not only a dear friend but I admire and respect all he’s done for hardcore,” states vocalist David Walker. “The two of us coming back together makes perfect sense. This is where it all began and so GOOD FIGHT MUSIC is the perfect place to start the next chapter.”
In 1996, the band released a second 7 inch with Trustkill Records, entitled IncisionIncision is widely recognized as HARVEST’s emergence as a heavier and darker group, solidifying the notion with the tracks ‘Waterfall’ and ‘Auburn’. Later that year, the band toured with Despair and Brothers Keeper.
In 1997, HARVEST released their first CD/LP release with Trustkill Records, entitled Living With A God Complex, and toured later that year with Endeavor. The band then turned around and released their 1998 One Step Closer Than The Last 7 inch and Transitions CD/LP, which marked the final recordings that HARVEST would release before separating. The band performed their final show in April 1999 with DisembodiedBaneExtinction, and Holding On.
Eleven years later in 2010, vocalist Dave Walker and Dan Zimmerman re-formed HARVEST with drummer Adam Patterson, and were joined by guitarist Mike Duffy of the band Endeavor, and bassist Jon Mcaab of The Good Fight.
“This world is a fucking disaster and there are darker days to come, but we hope to fight the negative with our message through empowerment and defiance of all those that seek to define the way we live,” states vocalist David Walker.
